Updates

6/05/19 - Monroeville pages added! New links and updated sources. A new email contact form will be coming soon.

8/28/15 - A photo of Barney Mahler, and a few more photos of repurposed LSE cars have been added to the Cleveland Freight Terminal page. Some minor edits and corrections were also made to the Norwalk section to better explain the schedules in the final years.

8/25/15 - Lake Shore Coach Co. page added! In the links below you will find a new page featuring an article on the Lake Shore Coach Co., the bus line successor to the LSE, written by transit historian Robert Korach in 1997.

8/19/15 - Norwalk pages added! After a long hiatus and a lot of research, the Norwalk section is now complete and posted. New material and revisions to existing pages are in the works.

10/8/14 - The Sheffield Lake page has been revised and updated to fix some errors, expand the text, and add more photos.

1/18/14 - The new and improved Lake Shore Rail Maps is now open! As you can see, the website now has a new design that is both more attractive and more functional. All the maps and lists of car stops for each section are fully functional. The pages for Eagle Ave. (now called Cleveland Freight Terminal) have been thoroughly revised, updated, and expanded with much new information and new photos. New pages for Norwalk and Monroeville, as well as revisions of current pages are in the works. Enjoy the site and feel free to use the contact form to send feedback.

6/16/13 - Map of Vacationland has been added. Access the map by clicking the "view map" button under the text on the Vacationland pages.

6/12/13 - *New Feature* I have begun adding a "view map" button at the bottom of the text on each page. Clicking this button will open an annotated Google map for that individual page in a new window for easy reference when reading. Later these individual maps will be combined into a large map for the entire LSE. At the moment I have only added the maps and buttons to the Berlin Heights and Ceylon Junction pages, but they will be added to all the pages in the near future.

6/5/13 - *New page posted* Berlin Heights! Progress on the new sections, and revisions of the older pages, has been extremely slow, but I wanted to begin posting something new. The first page of Part 3, Berlin Heights, is posted. Pages for Norwalk and Monroeville will follow later this summer, and many of the older pages will be revised. Please check back regularly.

3/16/12 - The Google map for the Lorain Street Railway has now been posted. Link is below right.

3/13/12 - The first three pages covering the Lorain Street Railway have been posted. Use the links and menu below right. The final two pages are still under construction and will be posted as soon as they are complete.

12/13/11 - The annotated route maps will no longer be available in Bing Maps, only Google Maps. Although Bing has a very detailed "bird's eye view" which is helpful, editing the Bing maps has become too tedious and problematic.

12/13/11 - The Google map for the Avon Beach & Southern Division has been updated and now includes thumbnail photos with many of the placemarkers. The other maps will be updated in the near future to follow this format.

10/20/11 - The East 9th Street Pier page has been expanded and updated with many new photos and new information.

8/21/11 - The Public Square page has been expanded and updated. Many new photos have been added, along with expanded text that corrects some previous errors.

6/3/11 - It has come to my attention that some of the graphics were not visible to those using Google Chrome. I have made some coding changes that should fix this bug.

6/2/11 - Eagle Ave. page has been revised and expanded to two pages and includes many new photos and more information.

5/15/11 - A map of the LSE and its connections has been added to the home page (at right). Click on the map to see a full size view.
