• Lake Shore Electric Railway Group
   A forum for those interested in the Lake Shore Electric
   Railway, its predecessors, successors, and connections.

• Dave's Electric Railroads
   A collection of electric railroad, interurban, and
   streetcar photography from many eras.

• Illinois Railway Museum
   America's largest railway museum, and owners of
   restored Lake Shore Electric coach 150 and freight
   trailer 810.

• Northern Ohio Railway Museum
   Working to collect, preserve, restore, display and
   operate railway equipment. The museum owns several
   LSE, LSRY, CSW&C, and NOT&L cars.

• Cleveland & Eastern Interurban Historical Society
   Dedicated to preservation of artifacts and materials
   of the Cleveland & Eastern Railway.

• Ohio Railroad Stations Past & Present
   Database of railroad stations in Ohio, both those
   that still exist and those of the past.


Local History

• The Avon Lake Story
   A summary of important aspects of Avon Lake's history,
   from ancient geology up to its 1965 publication, with
   multiple photos.

• Brady's Bunch of Lorain County Nostalgia
   Vintage ads, photos, postcards, reminiscing, and
   historical research on the city of Lorain and other
   Lorain County towns.

• The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History
   A joint effort by Case Western Reserve University and
   the Western Reserve Historical Society exploring
   thousands of topics in Cleveland history.

• Vermilion Views
   A weekly weblog covering history and memories of
   Vermilion, Ohio.

• Find A Grave
   "A virtual cemetery experience" of burial records and
   biographical information which can be helpful when
   researching local historical figures.
Historical Societies & Libraries

• Lorain Historical Society
   Covering the varied history of the city of Lorain,
   from tiny frontier outpost to industrial powerhouse.

• Cleveland State University Library
   A growing collection of historic photos, eBooks, and
   other media documenting the history of greater Cleveland.

• Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center
   Presidential library honoring Rutherford B. Hayes with
   collections on genealogy, local history, and Ohio obituaries.

• Ohio Memory
   A project of the Ohio Historical Society and the State
   Library of Ohio, includes photographs, newspapers, and
   other documents.

• Cleveland Public Library
   Large collection of historic photos, cemetery records,
   and other research databases.

• Library of Congress
   The nation's oldest federal cultural institution and
   also the largest library in the world.

• Sheffield Village Historical Society
   Dedicated to discovering, archiving, preserving, and
   interpreting the history of the village of Sheffield.

• Huron Public Library Digital Archives
   Archive of Erie County Reporter and Huron City Council
   Records digitized by the Huron Historical Society.

• Motor Bus Society
   Organized to collect and publish information on the
   history of bus transportation in North America.
   Maintains an extensive archive.


Historic Maps

• Historic Aerials
   Historic aerial and satellite photos of areas across
   the United States including northern Ohio.

• My Topo Historical Maps
   A special collection of historic topographical maps
   from the United States Geological Survey.

• Transportation History Sources
   Rails and Trails shares primary source materials and
   research on the history of Ohio transportation.

• Cleveland Historic Maps
   A combination of Hopkins and Sanborn plat maps stitched
   together for a seamless view of Cleveland over the years.
